Central park is an inspiration for tourists and New Yorkers alike. One couple was inspired by the park as they were making their home out of a limestone apartment in Central Park West. The apartment had views of Central Park, and their architect designed the space with the quiet grandeur of the park in mind. They used moldings with patterns of leaves and vines to give nod to the park while creating a light and airy feel.
- Yun Architecture teamed up with Zen Restoration to overhaul a couple’s Central Park West apartment.
- Yun has plaster fabricator Foster Reeve crafted a series of intricate botanically-themed moldings for the apartment.
- Yun refinished the apartment’s floors in a light, honey brown and added metallic accents that contrast with the molding.
“Beyond the coveted prewar buildings that line Central Park West, there was, of course, the park itself and the apartment’s views of it.”
