People have been expecting Mercado little spain to open soon but it has taken a long time for it to do so. It is supposed to be located at the shopping mall of 10 Hudson Yards. One can enter through the main entrance that is found at 10th avenue and then 30th street. March 12 was the day that the rest of the shopping center was opened but unfortunately Mercado Little Spain was not ready to open at that grand opening. At that time much work remained to be done in it. Two months after this grand opening, the store began to open slowly with portions like the combination food court and the grocery store along with the meat and cheese market opening but having short hours of operation. The food court would be found open at 3 pm and not earlier while the coffee bar and patatas bravas open much earlier than that. The Spanish Diner section also opens early and the author states that he has eaten there for breakfast. The author states that when the place was first announced, he was a little disappointed with it. This is despite the fact that the Director, Jose Andres is known and has the reputation of running food empires especially in Washington D.C. He was wondering why every time a new place opens it has to be European in taste.
- People have been waiting for the opening of Mercado little Spain and it has taken a long time for it to be realized.
- After the shopping mall opened, it took about two months before portions of Mercado Little Spain started to be realized like the grocery store, food court, and curio shop.
- The coffee bar there as well as the patatas bravas and Spanish Diner open at an early time at the store.
“When the rest of the shopping center staged a grand opening on March 12 of this year, MLS still wasn’t ready, and you could see through the windows that lots of work still remained to be done.”
